Planet Earth: From Pole to Pole

Casey and I started watching the Planet Earth series tonight. It has such incredible scenes of all sorts of wildlife... and we've only made it through one of 14 episodes. It's done in documentary style, but it's got to be the most riveting documentary I've seen yet, because they just keep moving from one setting to another to show some great stuff. One scene of a shark eating a seal that really got us both (we're both sad and in awe) can also be seen on Youtube here, although it's far more impressive in higher quality and on a bigger screen. It's a one-second clip that was slowed down to 1/40th of the original speed. I can imagine it's probably even better if you have a TV that doesn't have an obscenely blue tint for everything you watch!

It was a really good episode and I look forward to the others! The scene with the shark had me in awe, I just couldn't believe how high out of the water. Just wow! IT does have some sad parts but then again that is apart of nature

Miguel and I loved that series! We actually bought the HD DVD series (the British narrated one, which is exactly the same footage). You guys should come over and watch it with us sometime. That's one of our favorite things to do on Friday nights!

Ya, I've heard the British narrated one is much better than the American version, which I believe is narrated by Ripley, which explains why it isn't as good. She keeps trying to relate everything back to the aliens...
